Description
A dense and elegant Beaune Premier Cru
The estate
The Maison Louis Jadot, established in 1859, is a real benchmark in Burgundy. The family venture began with the acquisition of the famous Beaune Premier Cru Ursules vineyard in 1826.
The house then made its name through trade, which has today won it international acclaim, especially across the Atlantic. The Maison Louis Jadot sets out to carry on the idea of a Burgundy accessible to all lovers of quality wine across a wide range of products from regional appellations, Villages, Premiers Crus and Grand Crus.
Head of Maison Louis Jadot since 1992, Pierre-Henry Gagey entrusted his position to Thomas Seiter (Bouchard Père et Fils) and the role of General Manager to his son Thibault.
The vineyard
The Premier Cru "Clos des Couchereaux" 2021 du Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot is a Beaune wine from the vineyard "Les Couchereaux," which sits on a sout-facing slope in Beaune. The vines are planted on well-drained clay-limestone soils with alluvial deposit at the top.
The vintage
2021 was a year marked by severe frost in April and unstable weather conditions in Burgundy. Despite a smaller harvest than usual, the quality shone through, with floral and balanced white wines as well as bright, full-bodied and aromatic red wines.
Blend
The Beaune Premier cru "Clos des Couchereaux" Domaine Des Héritiers Louis Jadot 2021 is made from 100% pinot noir.
