Description
A fine and velvety Clos Vougeot red wine
The estate
Located in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine René Bouvier has its origins in the 1950s, when René Bouvier took over the management of the estate created by his father in 1910 in Marsannay. Since 1992, Bernard Bouvier has been at the helm of this Burgundy family estate, which oversees 30 hectares of vines managed with a deep respect for the environment. This terroir includes 23 hectares dedicated to red wines and 7 hectares to white wines.
The wine
This Grand Cru 2014 from Domaine René Bouvier is a Clos Vougeot wine that stems from a terroir of 40 ares. The vines, on average 55 years old, are managed by organic agriculture practices.
Winemaking and ageing
Traditional vinification. Ageing in casks of which 20-30% were new, for 18 months.
