Description
The elegance and freshness of a Burgundy red wine
The estate
Located on the best terroirs in Givry, Domaine de la Ferté benefits from an exceptional vineyard. And for good reason: with a south-east exposure, south for the best plots, and clay-limestone soils, all the conditions are in place for this remarkable terroir to produce great wines. With its 6 hectares of vines, including 1 hectare of Premier Cru 'La Servoisine,' the estate promises wines that are as grandiose as they are exclusive. With its exceptional climats, Domaine de la Ferté is one of today's most sought-after estates.
The vineyard
The vines of the Clos de Mortières plot in Givry were planted in 1985, and a 65-are fragment is currently being planted. The plot faces east and south-east. The soil in the upper part of the plot is clay-loam, while that in the lower part is sandy. The whole plot slopes gently to the south-east.
Winemaking and ageing
This Burgundy wine is the result of meticulous work both in the vineyard and in the cellar: to guarantee quality, the grapes are carefully harvested and sorted by hand. Once de-stemmed, the grapes are placed in vats for maceration and fermentation for around 15 days. Finally, the wine is aged in oak barrels.
