Description
A delicious and fresh great red Pessac-Léognan wine
The estate
Owned by the Bernard family since 1983, the beautiful Domaine de Chevalier is one of the top classified growths in Bordeaux. The estate is located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in a green haven to the south of Bordeaux. L'Esprit de Chevalier is the estate’s Second Wine.
The vineyard
A benchmark among Pessac-Léognan wines, Domaine de Chevalier watches over a rare vineyard that comprises 45 hectares of red vines. The vineyard lies on a gravelly soil upon a clay and gravel subsoil.
Vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes are sorted in the vineyard and in the cellar before and after destemming. One of the two vat rooms comprises concrete "tulip vats" to refine the extraction and blending. Aged in barrels for 14 months.
The blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (45%)
Merlot (45%)
Petit Verdot (10%).
