Description
A fruity, high-acid IGP Alpilles rosé wine
The estate
With its origins dating back more than two thousand years, Château Romanin was a highly spiritual place for the Greeks, the Gauls and the Christians. Located at the gateway to Les Baux-de-Provence, Château Romanin has belonged to the Charmolüe family since 2006, former owners of Château Montrose, Second Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Estèphe.
The vineyard
Romanin rosé 2022 is an IGP Alpilles wine produced from 58 hectares of vines on sandy limestone to sandy-silt-clay soil on the northern slopes of the Alpilles massif. The vineyard is run biodynamically and produces wines that are vinified and aged in an underground cellar covered with planted earth, creating a harmony between the cultivation of the vines and the work in the cellar.
Winemaking and ageing
Harvested by hand, the grapes were chilled in a cold room (10°C) for 24 hours. After settling, the alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel vats, as was ageing on fine lees for about 5 months with regular stirring.
